This exhibition explores the shared narratives and distinct perspectives of each artist’s Black experience, shaped by the urban landscapes of Houston and Washington, D.C.

About Jah Broussard

Justin "Jah" Broussard, a Lafayette, Louisiana native currently based in Houston, utilizes acrylic as his primary medium, while also incorporating pastel, oil, and found objects. His work is deeply influenced by his upbringing in the American South, modern family dynamics, and the tensions between personal identity and societal expectations. Through his art, Broussard immortalizes the multifaceted experience of being Black in America with beauty, passion, and authenticity.

About Corey Ramon Gibson

Corey Ramon Gibson, a Washington D.C. native, artistic practice showcases an unrivaled technique and distinct style that captures the richness of Black quotidian life. His work blends satire with reverence, fostering meaningful dialogue and encouraging viewers to connect with their identity and ancestral heritage.
